I Remember When...(Or Yes, Prices Have Gone Up)!

Just a little nostalgia about how much things cost in 1962 versus now (I'm assuming that these are U.S. dollars, but the effect would probably be similar worldwide).

  1. The price of some things now is beyond ridiculous. I am paying more & going home with so much less.

  2. Ahhh, but you are also paying the same (or thereabouts) for much smaller containers. Mind you, the companies gradually make them smaller without everyone noticing. For example, Miracle Whip was 1L, then 950 mL (I think), and now is 890 mL. (I don't know the Imperial sizes; sorry.)

  3. I used to be shocked when my grocery bill was more than $50. Now I'm shocked when it's less than that. And oh yes, the smaller containers. I dislike that even more than raising the prices because it's an obvious attempt to mislead and manipulate the customer.
