The Little Green Dress Project

You've heard of the little black dress. It's been around for ages. Now environmental artist, Nicole Dextras, has created the little green dress, 21 handmade botanical dresses which were part of her Weedrobes series and displayed at the VanDusen Botanical Garden (Vancouver, BC, Canada) this summer. The project was meant to promote environmental awareness and to suggest that women should have at least one item in her wardrobe that is "produced in a sustainable and equitable manner."

Moble Garden Dress is by artist Nicole Dextras and Nita Bowerman was modeling the piece
(Note: the dress above is probably not part of the little green dress display, but it is by Nicole Dextras).

  1. That's all very well & good, but are they COMFORTABLE?

  2. LOL Probably not, and anyone who wears one might become a bug magnet! (There was also another picture of someone watering the flower pots of the top dress. I don't think she could sit down in that).
